(1) Note. The viscose process is based on the reaction of carbon disulfide with the sodium salt of cellulose to yield a xanthate, which forms a viscous colloidal solution in dilute aqueous alkali. This subclass provides for the colloidal solution as well as the cellulose xanthate. [figure]
