(under subclass 87) Subject matter wherein the phenol, phenol ether, or inorganic phenolate contains at least three rings and wherein each of said rings is composed solely of carbon atoms.

(1) Note. For purposes of this subclass a ring containing only carbon atoms wherein a 1, 2-epoxy group is fused directly thereto is considered as being a single ring, e.g., [figure] [caption], etc.
