DEFINITION

Classification: 526/282

(under subclass 281) Subject matter wherein the bridged ring system contains at least one ethylenic group which is directly or indirectly bonded to a single carbon atom of the bridged ring nucleus.

(1) Note. For purposes of this subclass "directly or indirectly bonded " is meant to include all ethylenic unsaturation which is external to the bridged nucleus and which is bonded to the bridged nucleus by a single nuclear carbon atom, e.g., [figure] [caption]etc.

(2) Note. For purposes of this subclass, a methylene group which is bonded to a nuclear carbon atom will suffice as

being an external ethylenic group, and is proper for this subclass, e.g., [figure] [caption]etc.

SEE OR SEARCH THIS CLASS, SUBCLASS:

281+, for an ethylenic unsaturated group which is bonded to the bridged ring system through a ring which is fused to the bridged ring system, e.g., [figure] [caption]etc.
