Dextrin or derivative:

(under subclass 54) Subject matter wherein the polysaccharide consists of various gummy polysaccharides produced by thermal or acid degradation of starch, and derivatives of such compounds.

(1) Note. Dextrins are carbohydrates, intermediate between

starch and sugars. Degradation of dextrins yields maltose and glucose.

(2) Note. Derivatives of dextrins which remain gummy polysaccharides are classified herein.
