(under subclass 5) Apparatus wherein the condition to which the means reacts is the location of the surface of a quantity of material to be, or being, separated, which surface is that formed by the material when it is in either the receptacle-like member or in a container which furnishes (e.g., meters) it to the member, and which material is in the nature of either a liquid or a slurry.
