DEFINITION

Modified blade:

(under subclass 53) Apparatus wherein the portion is so altered or changed as to be structurally dissimilar, in one or more respects, to a conventional screw thread, the alterations or changes being for a purpose related to the portion's function in the separating operation.

(1) Note. The modification may be found in the external surface of the portion, or it may involve the interior thereof; in the latter instance, however, the inner region of the "blade" portion of the thread, rather than merely the interior of the "shaft" upon which it is formed, must be involved.
