DEFINITION

Classification: 48/104

Retorts in which oil is gasified the gas- pressure being used to entrain air on its way to the gasometer. In this subclass the gas is purified or fixed on its way to the storage-gasometer. The retort is heated by a portion of the gas generated. Does not include similar devices where a portion or all of the gas is burned to heat the retort, in which is no fixation, purification, or storage of the gas.
