(under subclass 101) Subject matter wherein said member is a guide roll* engaged with the belt*; and wherein the weight of the guide roll, or the weight of an auxiliary mass associated with the guide roll, causes the guide roll to be continually biased in a direction to increase the tensile stress in the belt or to take up any undesirable slack in the belt.
