Having reciprocating die and header:

(under subclass 121) Subject matter wherein the apparatus is further provided with means having wire-gripping dies capable of reciprocating transversely of the line of feed of the wire to grip and release the wire and wherein the header is capable of reciprocating in the direction of the length of the nail to head the nail while being held by the gripping dies.

(1) Note. The dies of this subclass usually point and sever as well as hold the nail.
