DEFINITION

Classification: 454/243

Sleeved vent for ceiling, wall, or floor (i.e., thimble):

(under subclass 241) Subject matter wherein the single structure comprises a casing which acts alone and is inserted in an interior top, side, or bottom structural barrier of the (ventilated) space to guide air separately and in opposite directions between adjacent, unconfined locations on opposite sides of the barrier.

(1) Note. An air distributing register with return vent which works in conjunction with a duct is not included in this subclass. The adjacent air on opposite sides of the barrier must be unconfined by ducting or like structures.

(2) Note. A bank-vault ventilator thimble is included in this subclass.
