Retaining bayonet:

(under subclass 312) Coupling part wherein the encompassing member is intended to interfit with the mating part by moving first axially and then rotatably with respect to the mating part to engage a cooperating lug on the mating part.

(1) Note. Under the definition, one coupling part may move into engagement with a mating part, the mating part having an annular latching component which is then rotated to engage a lug on the coupling part.
