DEFINITION

Classification: 430/51

Persistent internal polarization imaging:

(under subclass 31) Processes wherein the simultaneous application of an electric field and electromagnetic irradiation upon a medium produces a persistent internal polarization within the radiation conductive insulator of the medium in the form of a separation of positive or negative charges for a finite time. The application of electromagnetic irradiation is oftentimes done in an imagewise configuration.
