DEFINITION

Classification: 43/102

(under subclass 100) Fishtraps comprising a support, usually floating, and a cage, into which the fish are enticed and which is lowered into the water and elevated out of the water by hoisting means on the support to catch the fish. Frequently the cage is guided, and in all cases it is hoisted in a vertical direction. The cage may be a fishtrap per se or may entrap only by reason of the hoisting.
