DEFINITION

Classification: 428/373

(under subclass 364) Product comprising a plurality of fibers or filaments which have been simultaneously formed by being forced through separate openings in a die or spinneret, and in which (1) the individual fibers or filaments are side-by-side with a connecting web therebetween or (2) one fiber or filament is substantially enclosed in the other (sheath-core type).

(1) Note. The fibers are usually of different composition so that on cooling or heating the crimp or nonlinearity may be controlled due to the differing rates of expansion or contraction.
