DEFINITION

Classification: 427/340

(under subclass 337) Processes wherein the coating contains (1) a material of the resinous, rubber or hardenable oil type or (2) a substance which precedes the formation of a material as set forth in (1).

(1) Note. Linseed, tung, and other drying oils are considered hardenable, for example.

(2) Note. Paint is assumed to contain latex rubber or linseed oil unless otherwise specified.

(3) Note. Shellac and varnish are examples of natural resins.
