DEFINITION

Classification: 427/2.15

Fluidized bed utilized:

(under subclass 2.14) Processes in which a bed or mass of particles or unit-dosage-articles is maintained in a state of fluidized suspension by passing a gas or vapor in a generally upward direction through the particles or unit-dosage-articles.

(1) Note. Coating material may be introduced directly into the fluidized mass or along with the fluidizing gas or vapor.

(2) Note. Placement here does not require that the particles or unit-dosage-articles be coated while in the fluidizing gas or vapor; they may be coated before entry to or after exit from the fluidized bed.
