(under subclass 69) Processes in which a chemical reaction is performed upon the mixture to enable two solid components of the mixture, usually of different compositions, to be more readily separated from each other by nonchemical methods and while the components are still in a solid-state.
(1) Note. Examples of solid-solid separation are: magnetic, gravity, centrifugal, etc. Solution (leaching) of one of the solids is not considered to be solid-solid separation for this subclass.
