(under subclass 460) Apparatus in which either the cylinder or piston therein is pivotally mounted relative to a fixed support and the other is driven by a mechanism (e.g., crank or lever) in a manner which necessitates alternate to-and-fro motion of less than 360 deg. of the cylinder about an axis formed by said pivotal mounting, said axis being obliquely disposed (i.e., not parallel or coincident) relative to the longitudinal axis of the cylinder (i.e., the axis of working member reciprocation).
