DEFINITION

Classification: 409/69

To regulate cutting depth (e.g., relief, taper, etc.):

(under subclass 67) Apparatus wherein, in response to the replaceable information supply, the degree of projection of the cutting tool toward the work is regulated.

(1) Note. Variation in the degree of projection of the cutting tool may follow an axial pattern as in generating a thread or helix on a tapered surface or a circumferential pattern as in producing a relieved helical cutting tool.
