(under subclass 339) Apparatus including means to cause repositioning of the cutting tool from the first to the second position and including means for coupling power, frictionally or positively, to the repositioning means before the beginning or after the end of infeed (the cutting stroke), and then disengaging during the remainder of the infeed.
(1) Note. Including herein is a pair of frictionally engaging discs, one attached to a reversible drive shaft and the other attached to a feed rod, the pair adapted to oscillate so that one or the other causes the relative infeed of the cutting tool and the workpiece.
