YIELDABLE TOOL:

(under the class definition) Device having a cutting edge or point supported for operation such that upon a predetermined condition, the apparatus will intentionally allow the cutting edge or point to move away from operational position.

(1) Note. Since any device will yield upon sufficient overloading, this subclass is limited to only those devices having specific structure to allow the yield to take place at a predetermined location according to the design of the device.
