(under subclass 49) Implement wherein the piece of coating material is elastically or resiliently mounted in the support# by means other than, or in addition to, an element of material advancing means, so that excess pressure on the tool end of the piece will cause the material to recede into the support and release of such excess pressure will allow a return of the tool end to use position.
(1) Note. The piece of coating material may be rigidly held in a feed mechanism and the mechanism may be elastically mounted within an outer casing.
(2) Note. The cushion mounting of the tool is usually to prevent breakage of the piece by excess force imposed on the tip.
