(under subclass 663) Subject matter wherein significance is attributed to means for preventing a carriage* from moving away from a position that is substantially midway of the total distance that the carriage is capable of moving.
(1) Note. The purpose of a lock of this and indented subclasses is usually to enable transport of a typewriter without damage to its movable parts.
