Including laterally adjustable bands (e.g., tractor feed, etc.):

(under subclass 616) Subject matter wherein the means for moving a web of record-medium* includes at least two closed loop flexible members that move in a direction parallel to the line-space* direction, and each of which members includes one or more of said elements, and wherein the position of either or both of the members relative to the web can be varied in a direction perpendicular to the line-space direction.

(1) Note. In some typewriters of this subclass the position of two of said members relative to the web is varied at the same time, and both bands are moved oppositely in equal distances. This is termed "tractor feed".
