By adjustment of carriage (e.g., carriage-guide rollers):

(under subclass 55) Subject matter wherein the optimum printing plane is adjusted by varying the position of the carriage* of the typewriter with respect to the print-point.

(1) Note. In this subclass the position of roller elements or the carriage frame on which the carriage moves to and fro is adjusted.
