DEFINITION

Classification: 40/350

(under subclass 349) Device wherein the advancing means comprises an elongated member (e.g., rod or bar) connected to the platen; reciprocating means engaging at least opposite sides of said member to grip and advance said member for one stroke and release and slide along said member on the return stroke, which means is actuable for a series of reciprocations to effect a series of advances; and means for retaining the elongated member in each of the advanced positions of the series.
