(under subclass 56) Subject matter which includes structure offset from the fiber joint in a direction along the fiber axis where such structure prevents undesired motion of layers concentric with and outside of the fiber itself.

(1) Note. The additional cable layers may be secured by means of adhesive, by crimping, etc.
