Temperature modification:

(under subclass 125) Subject matter wherein means are provided to modify one or more temperatures within the tube, e.g., to decrease the operating temperature of the rotor bearings to prevent them from seizing.

(1) Note. Also included is subject matter having means comprising evaporable metal for transferring heat away from the focal spot to lower the maximum instantaneous local temperature on the target itself.
