(under subclass 277) Subject matter wherein component failure within the fissile and/or fertile region of a reactor is mitigated through the use of a barrier that slows or stops the egress of said components(s) from the region.
(1) Note. The barrier will also serve to prevent the egress of any other component transported with the failed component.
