Shock wave heating of plasma or gas (e.g., mhd heating):
(under subclass 100) Subject matter wherein the nuclei which are to undergo reaction are in a plasma or gaseous state and wherein the plasma or gas is subjected to compressional force acting at a rate greater than the velocity of a compressional wave through the plasma or gas.
(1) Note. The action of force on the plasma or gas may be direct or indirect.
(2) Note. The shock wave may be produced by an electrical discharge.
