DETERMINATION OF INHERENT THERMAL PROPERTY (E.G., HEAT FLOW COEFFICIENT):

(under the class definition) Subject matter for ascertaining a specimen's ability to transmit, transfer, retard, or spread heat and which includes heating or cooling of a portion of the specimen.

(1) Note. Properties determined by such a measurement include thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, or heat transfer coefficient.

(2) Note. Measurement of specific heat is made by calorimetry.
