(under subclass 23) Subject matter wherein the scale or dial is contained within an instrument case and the illuminating structure is external to the case; the case having an opening through which the scale or dial is observed and either another opening or light transparent portion through which light from the external illuminating structure enters the case to illuminate the scale or dial.
(1) Note. The instrument has no structure to measure a quantity and the dial has no arrangement or structure to classify the instrument or dial in an appropriate measuring or indicating class.
