DEFINITION

(under subclass 88) Subject matter including means to gradually increase the intensity of an image (i.e., fade in) or to gradually diminish the intensity of an image until it is no longer recognizable (i.e., fade out).
(1) Note. This subclass provides for projectors having shutters disclosed as being for dissolving views and shutters having multiple elements which move into the light path to block the light.
