Spectacle hinges are classifiable, per se, in Class 16, Miscellaneous Hardware, subclass 228, and Class 403, Joints and Connections, subclasses 52+, even when the claim indicates the hinge is to be used with or in spectacles. However, the recitation of specific temple features in combination with the hinge is sufficient for classification in this subclass 121.
