DEFINITION

Classification: 347/135

Light intensity modulation means:

(under subclass 134) Subject matter wherein a recording energy of at least one writing beam is varied by an

electrically variable optically transmission element, located between the medium and the light beam generator, in accordance with the information signal thereby creating at least one modulated writing beam.

(1) Note. The electrically variable optically transmission element may be acousto-optic, electro-optic, Bragg-cell, light valve, spatial light modulator, TIR device (total internal reflection device), or magneto-optic.
