DEFINITION

(under subclass 70) Subject matter wherein the resistor includes (1) two or more separate and distinct masses, including grains, of resistance material, or (2) a distinct and separate mass of resistance material and a mass of conductive material are in exterior surface engagement with one another, together with means for varying the surface engagement pressure to vary the contact resistance between the engaging surfaces, i.e., the resistor is of the type defined in subclass 99 below.
