DEFINITION
Classification: 338/5
(under subclass 2) Subject matter wherein the device to which the strain gauge is attached is responsive to a force applied thereto, the portion of the device to which the strain gauge is attached being deformed by this force to deform the strain gauge.
(1) Note. In this subclass, the device converts the applied force to strain or deformation.
(2) Note. When the resistor strain gage is disclosed for making a quantitative measurement, proper classification is in the measuring class (see search notes below).
