(under subclass 137) Subject matter wherein the coil is formed of a helically or spirally wound conductor, a movable contactor being provided to make contact with the coil, the conductor contact being movable along the length of the helical or spiral conductor and maintaining a continuous contact with the conductor during such movement so that the conductor contact of the contactor travels in the helical or spiral path defined by the conductor and so that in the range of adjustment of the contactor the change in effective impedance is continuously changing (as distinguished from a step-by-step change).
(1) Note. If the device is also provided with means so that the contact can be moved out of contact with the conductor to make a large discontinuous change in inductance, this will not exclude the patent from this subclass.
