(under subclass 78) Subject matter comprising a tuner having a variable capacitor which is so constructed and/or driven by an adjusting means that if the frequency variation or change produced in the tuner by the adjustment of the variable
capacitor is plotted along the abscissa and the movement or variation of the variable capacitor is plotted along the ordinate of a graph, the line produced would be linear.
(1) Note. Straight line frequency variation as found in this subclass may be obtained by proper design of the profile or cross section of the plates of the condenser, or of the cam or other equivalent driving devices, or by proper combinations of variable and fixed capacitors.
