181.~ Variable inductance device (e.g., saturable core or adjustable vane inductor)

DEFINITION

Classification: 331/181

(under subclass 177) Oscillators in which the variable frequency controlling element consists of an inductance device provided with means to vary the effective inductance of the device. By way of examples, the inductance device may have a core of variable permeability, means being provided to vary the permeability of the core and hence the inductance of the device, or the device may comprise a metallic member of magnetic or nonmagnetic material movable within the magnetic field of an inductance coil to vary the inductance thereof.
