DEFINITION

Classification: 30/289

(under subclass 286) Implements which have a guide to cause the tool to move in a predetermined relation to the material being cut by mere engagement with the material or a work supported member or a work table or other support for the material or to cause the material to move in a predetermined relation to the implement. The same device may function as both a guard and guide.

(1) Note. A work supported member serving as a tool guide is, per se, classified in Class 269, Work Holders, subclasses 1+. The combination of the work supported tool guide and the tool guided therein is originally classified in this and indented subclasses.
