DEFINITION

Classification: 29/898.055

Nonmetallic:

(under subclass 898.054) Process wherein material other than metal is utilized in the manufacture of the sleeve or bushing which material provides functional sleeve characteristics such as flexibility.

(1) Note. The inclusion of a metallic backing or lining member as a component of such bearings does not effect their nonmetallic designation since the dominant functional characteristics of such bearings result from the nonmetallic components thereof.
