DEFINITION

(under subclass 727) Devices which extend between the vehicle frame (or other unsprung portion) and the vehicle axle (or other sprung portion) for the purpose of preventing the vehicle spring from flexing in either or both directions.
(1) Note. These devices are usually used to lock the vehicle spring and body together to prevent having to raise the body of an automobile excessively off the ground to change a tire.
