DEFINITION

Classification: 271/260

(under subclass 259) Device wherein the detecting means utilize air pressure or suction in their activating circuitry.

(1) Note. This subclass is for a device wherein two sensers are opposed to each other, and are located so that a succession of sheets pass between the sensers with the surfaces of the sheets adjacent to the sensers. Air, usually suction, applied to the sensers will detect the presence of a single passing sheet by activating one senser, but will detect the presence of superposed (i.e., doubled) sheets by activating both sensers.
