DEFINITION

Classification: 269/221

(under subclass 216) Device including two or more mechanisms to move the same jaw.

(1) Note. Patents placed in this subclass require that the claimed holder include at least two force multiplying or bias inducing means acting on the same jaw. The inclusion of means to vary effective speed of jaw movement or jaw force is not such a mechanism. For example, a holder utilizing a differential screw actuator is not considered to have plural means for this subclass.

(2) Note. In the illustration shown below jaw 3 can be moved by the force of both spring 2 and screw 1. [figure]
