DEFINITION

Classification: 267/64.16

Leveling device:

(under subclass 64.15) A device including means operable to maintain the spring's effective "working range" constant regardless of various loading conditions, so the "mean riding height" of the vehicle can be maintained substantially constant.

(1) Note. "Mean riding height" refers to the distance between sprung and unsprung parts of the vehicle when it is at rest, i.e., at the midpoint of the spring's oscillation, or "working range".
