302RADIATION TRACER METHODS {1}
303  DF  .~> Radioactive tracer methods

DEFINITION

Classification: 250/302

(under the class definition) Subject matter which includes methods of applying a material onto a surface, into a substance, into a closed or open pipe, or into a fluid, static or moving, and detecting the radiation emitted naturally or as secondary radiation as a result of irradiation of the material or a modification of radiation caused by the material for any purpose not provided for else where.

(1) Note. Subject matter of this subclass includes flow testing methods using fluorescent material and a radiation source to cause the material to give off light.

(2) Note. The combination of a tracer with a manufacturing or an art process will go with the manufacturing or art process; also, articles of manufacture with a tracer for this class will be found with the manufactured item.
