Having operator or locking means:

(under subclass 460) Detached gripping members having either (a) an operator* for moving one of the gripping members into contact with the structure-to-be-secured*, or (b) locking means* not directly engaging the structure-to-be-secured* itself but retaining the opposed gripping members in contact therewith.

(1) Note. The operator* must not directly contact the structure-to-be-secured* to be proper for this subclass.
