DEFINITION

Classification: 234/90

(under the class definition) Device including means responsive to a tool-selecting operation to partially condition a power drive train for subsequent actuation of a selected tool, and means responsive to a subsequent tool-selecting operation, or to the passage of time, to

complete such conditioning of the power drive train.

(1) Note. A common purpose for such a device is to provide what is loosely termed one-stroke storage*, thus affording the operative of a keyboard machine an opportunity of recitifying an error if it is perceived before the next key has been struck.

(2) Note. Storage* is not necessarily involved in machines of this type.
