DEFINITION

Classification: 234/117

(under subclass 109) Device in which said tool-conditioning mechanism comprises means capable of moving a tool or an element of a tool-actuating drive train into power receiving engagement with a movable actuator.

(1) Note. The mechanism of this subclass is distinguishable from the interposer mechanism of subclass 111 in that the movable element is at all times drivingly connected to its associated tool.

(2) Note. Fig. 23 illustrates typical mechanism of this subclass. A dog or link, pivotally attached to tool T, is movable into and out of alignment with reciprocable hammer H, by positioning-linkage controlled by a key or other means. [figure] [caption]Fig. 23.Typical Mechanism of subclass 117.
